If Something Goes Wrong Online

Kia Ora everyone, we have been learning how to deal with something if something goes wrong.

For example, if you get a messege or an email and you don’t know how it is, this is how to deal with it.

  1. You take a scrrenshot before you do anything else.
  2. Then you send or tell it to an adult that you trust.
  3. Now the adult will deal with it.

Make sure you have someones permission before you post there photo online.

The Amazing Maungakahia Show With Bernard

Kia ora, In Term 1 we were so lucky to have Bernard and the Maungakahia Show. It was so fun! He first Introduced us to him he said that he climbed the tallest mountin in Africa!  He went with his wife and his Father In – law. His Father In – law had prosthetic leg and he climbed the tallest moutain in Africa! . He said that it was really, really, REALLY cold and that they were above the clouds! He had this big sign behind him that said MANA, he said that meant Magic. During the show he did these really cool hola hopes tricks during a dance that was really fast. Some of the hola hopes tricks were the butterfly and the flower. One of the kids in our class he went up and  Bernard showed him how to do it it was really easy. But when he did was so fast!  He used seven hopes during the dance. He said that people his age usally uses 30! or 40! I don’t think I could even do 5! He drew a Tā moko with a pencil on one side of his face. Then pulled some kids from the crowd up to the front and put on some crazy wigs they looked a bit funny and then Bernard showed them a haka with the song “Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall.” Then we all stood up and did it with them. It was kind of funny. He Told us stroy about when his kids were younger. They had this extra room in the house so they truned in to a dance studio with moirros and speckers all over the room and they would just turn on the music and dance.

Parihaka

Kia ora everyone, today I am going to tell you how I made my headband for Parihaka celebration day and a liitle bit about Parihaka. So first I got given this type of long glossy paper we got two double sided tape on each side. Then we had to put the two together. We had to messure to the size of my head then mark it. After that I had to  draw a pattern on it. The patterns were called taniko. Once we had drawn it in pencil and showed the teacher we could start in vivid. Once we finshed with the vivid we had to show the teacher and put the paper together around our head. Then we would chose how many feathers you want we could choose from 1 to 3. I chose 3, then we would place the feathers and tape it down. Then your finished!

Here is a photo of mine.

So now I am going to tell you wahy Parihaka is celebrated. So in 1860 Land was bening taken from many Maori tribes in Taranaki. Two strong leaders Te Whiti – o – Rongomai and Tohu Kakahi  set up a settlement for Maori who lost their land and homes.  When the goverment wanted to take this land as well. They protested in a Non – violent way. They wore the white plume, feather to repesent peace. That is why we remember the events of Parihaka every year.

Netball game

In week three on Monday we had a netball game!.  My team is called “The Magic Team”.  In our team we have Me, Honor, Deezhanay, Darcy-Rose, Eliza, Jasleen, Danielle, Mo, Kingston and Jodece. Our coach is Miss Bhula. We were supposed to have two netball games but the first game got cancelled so we automatically won. Our second game was at 6:00 pm. we played against Blockhouse Bay.   I played defense and so did Deezhanay. Honor  and Darcey-Rose played attack, and Eliza and Jasleen were Center.  I was really scared at first but I think I did a very good job. I love playing netball with my friends that is the best thing about netball. It was 2-3 we lost but I think that all of us tried our hardest! We all had a good time.

Here is a Photo from our netball game.
